Sasha goes to Spain

Sasha was sold and goes to the new owner in Spain. After so many years in the cold North Sea, she decided to move to the Mediterranean sea. She is located now in Adra, Almeria. We wish a lot of fun and happiness with her to Arturo, Fiona, and their wonderful family 🥰.

Summer Sailing 2021

 Great Summer so far. Finally fit enough to sail again :) How awesome is that :)

Launching 2021

I did not sail in 2020 because of my injury, and Sasha got really hairy :)  I had everything cleaned proffesionally.

The marine service in Scheveningen Van Veen did the maintenance, and I used again the Sirocco NL antifouling, the same as in 2019.

Now the beautiful Sasha is ready for action.

Season 2020 postponed.

I got my Achilles tendon totally ruptured in January and I just started walking slowly, slowly last week. I do not have the confidence to try sailing yet, probably will be fit enough in the mid summer.
However it does not mean that I could not enjoy the excellent spring weather on the water with nice company 🥰🥰🥂🥂🍸🍾🥰

I though that there is some problem with algaes on the hull because under motor I had a feeling that Sasha has some diffculties moving. When I got her out it appeared that some plastic bag  was rolled up the propeller. Fortunately there was not any damage. The good news are the the new antfouling which I tried in the beginning of the year works perfectly for the Scheveningen harbour. I manage to get some shots at Sasha from above :) Could not resist to share them.

New batteries for Sasha.

I had difficulty to start the engine in the open sea few times. Resolved the problem on spot by switching off all the electronic equipment and trying again to start the engine. It worked... The old batteries were like 8 years old, and decided to go for two new 105 Ah batteries.  Now the engine starts without any problem :)

Sail Scheveningen

Sasha also took part in the sailing parade of Sail Scheveningen. I think the event was a great success. It should be definitely repeated.

The small boat is the Dutch frigate Shtandart replica of a boat built by Peter the Great in 1703 in St. Petersburg. Love it...
